Striped Tee

My first finished garment of 2012!!

The pattern:  McCall’s 6034, pullover tunic w/ various details.  I made View B, with a cowl-ish neck and bottom band.

The fabric: Green/brown/white wavy stripe knit.

The verdict:  I like the pattern very much.  It came together very quickly and easily.  Because of the way it is put together, the only hemming that needed done was the back neck and the sleeve openings.  I’m not so happy with my choice of fabric.   When I bought it, I thought that with the uneven and wavy stripes, it wouldn’t really matter much if they didn’t match up at the side seams.  It looks a little sloppy and cheap to me, although because the front and back are two giant pattern pieces, it would have taken loads of fabric to try to match these stripes.  It’s an okay shirt, and the pattern is definitely a keeper.  S thought it was great; she said I looked like a teenager.  To her that is high praise.
